World of Concrete brought us back to Las Vegas for another year, this time in the North Hall, which has become the dedicated home for construction technology at the show. It's the right place for a platform like SubBase to be. The contractors walking those aisles aren't browsing. They're looking for tools that solve specific problems, and they know their work well enough to spot a demo that's built for them versus one that was built by someone who's never been on a pour.
This year we had a lot to show them.

A new module for ready-mix concrete orders

Managing ready-mixed concrete orders is one of the most manual, frustrating parts of running a concrete contracting business. Loads are ordered by phone or email. Delivery tickets come in on paper. Tracking actuals against estimates means cross-referencing a spreadsheet with a pile of tickets, usually at the end of a long day.

We unveiled a new module at WOC that digitizes and centralizes that entire workflow. Contractors can manage their ready-mix orders in SubBase, with real-time visibility into what's been ordered, what's been delivered, and how actuals are tracking against estimates, without the manual reconciliation that currently eats up time nobody has.

The response on the floor was direct and positive. Contractors recognized the problem immediately because they live it every day. We're rolling out the feature with that feedback in hand, and continuing to refine it based on what users tell us they actually need.

Conversations that matter

The conference floor is useful. The conversations around it are often more useful.

WOC gave us time with existing customers and industry peers in a setting where there's space to go deeper than a demo allows. What we hear in those conversations shapes how we build. The contractors who use SubBase every day see things we don't see from the outside, edge cases, workflow preferences, friction points that don't show up in support tickets. That feedback is how the platform stays grounded in what the work actually requires.

What’s next

SubBase was heading to the ABC National Convention in Las Vegas shortly after WOC, continuing those conversations and showing what the platform can do for trade contractors across the country.
